چکیده
Background: Severe bilateral Fixed flexion deformity of the knees resulting from irreversible joint damage is a disabling complication long-standing rheumatoid arthritis, associated with loss ambulatory ability. While Total knee Arthroplasty an effective treatment for such patients, it poses significant intra-operative technical demands and challenges post-operative rehabilitation. Method: We report case both in 46-year-old male non-ambulatory since 5 years, treated by sequential total arthroplasty. Results: Treating deformities patient using standard implants yielded complete correction pain-free restoration active range motion stable independent ambulation lower limb function within 3 months surgery. Conclusion: Our particularly remarkable stable, 3months severe fixed who had been years preceding his Keywords: deformity, arthroplasty, Common peroneal nerve, Rheumatoid arthritis.

Total Knee Arthroplasty in Severe Unstable Knee: Case-Report and Literature Review
Multiplanar or global laxity in arthritic knee is rare , most of this patients have neuromuscular disorder (post poliomyelitis , spinal dystrophy) or history of knee trauma. Ligament insufficiency and severe bone loss is significant in this patient. The estimated prevalence for the concurrence of charcot marie-tooth (CMT) with myasthenia gravis (MG) suggests an extremely rare event. We have p...
متن کاملParadoxical embolism in bilateral total knee arthroplasty: a case report.
Paradoxical embolism is defined as venous thrombosis causing systemic embolization through a right-to-left shunt. We, herein, report a case of bilateral total knee arthroplasty and developed paradoxical embolism caused by patent foramen ovale. A sixty-two-year-old female had a simultaneous, total knee arthroplasty for primary osteo-arthritis. A pulmonary emboli was suspected on the thirteenth p...
متن کاملTotal knee arthroplasty for severe valgus knee deformity.
BACKGROUND Primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in severe valgus knees may prove challenging, and choice of implant depends on the severity of the valgus deformity and the extent of soft-tissue release. The purpose of this study was to review 8 to 11 years (mean, 10 years) follow-up results of primary TKA for varient-III valgus knee deformity with use of different type implants. METHODS Betw...
متن کاملGenu Recurvatum versus Fixed Flexion after Total Knee Arthroplasty
BACKGROUND To date, there is no study comparing outcomes between post-total knee replacement genu recurvatum and fixed flexion. This study aims to provide data that will help in deciding which side to err on when neutral extension is not achieved. METHODS A prospective cohort study of primary total knee arthroplasties was performed, which compared the 6-month and 2-year clinical outcomes betw...

PURPOSE To identify factors related to knee flexion after total knee arthroplasty in a Chinese population. METHODS Records of 242 total knee arthroplasties were retrospectively reviewed. The parameters evaluated were age, gender, diagnosis, preoperative knee flexion and extension, preoperative flexion arc, tibiofemoral angle, Knee Society knee score and functional score, and implant design. ...
